Washing and Winning

"Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin…. and I shall be whiter than snow… Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto Thee" (Psalm 51:2,7,13).  "He that winneth souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:30).  "For if the blood of bulls and goats… sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:13,14). 

The washing that Christ will bestow,

Which thoroughly cleanses from sin,

Still washes much whiter than snow

The moment our Lord enters in. 

There's no other Gospel that saves,

Though many would rather hear lies,

But God draws the sinner who craves,

And those who win souls shall be wise.   

The bulls and the goats which were seen

Portraying our Lord Jesus Christ

Could never themselves make us clean,

Repeatedly then sacrificed. 

Lord, thank You washing and winning  

Our souls by Your blood that You shed.

Now turn us and purge us from sinning,

So others to You may be led.
