"How shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants" (Genesis 44:16). "O give thanks unto the LORD... Who remembered us in our low estate... and hath redeemed us... for His mercy endureth for ever" (Psalm 136:1,23,24). "Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death" (Proverbs 11:4). "We ourselves are comforted of God... Who delivered us from so great a death" (2 Corinthians 1:4,10).
The
searching eye of God has seen
And
found out the iniquity
That
separates us far between
His
righteousness eternally.
In
view of this, who would have dreamed
That
Christ would stand up in our place
And
die for us whom He redeemed,
So
He might clear us by His grace?
The
riches of this troubled earth
Are
left behind with our last breath,
Which
neither clear us by their worth
Nor
ransom us at last from death.
Receive
our thanks, Lord Jesus Christ,
For
clearing us upon Your cross
When
You were thereby sacrificed
To purge our sins away as dross.
