Ultimate Understanding

“We know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).

We know there are things that we can’t understand

Which Almighty God chooses not to disclose,

But God has unveiled His salvation planned,

Displayed in His Son who triumphantly rose!

In Christ is the ultimate knowledge now found

With answers to questions we so deeply craved,

Like:  “Where is my soul in eternity bound?”

And “What must I do that my soul may be saved?”

O Lord, we give thanks for the grace You impart 

That grants us a personal knowledge of You,

Provides us salvation that cleanses our heart,

And gives understanding of that which is true.
