Memorial Miracles

"I speak not with your children which have not known…. His miracles, and His acts, which He did in the midst of Egypt…. But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did” (Deuteronomy 11:2-7).  “For I know that the LORD is great…. Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt.... Thy name, O LORD, endureth forever, and Thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations” (Psalm 135:5-13).  “If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin” (John 15:24).

Consider the miracles God has displayed

In Egypt, the desert, and Israel’s land.

How great is His name and memorial made

Through tokens He sent by the strength of His hand!

Consider the works of our Lord and our Savior,

Who did all the miracles Scripture foretold:

For no other person displayed such behavior,

So plainly presented for all to behold!

The lame received strength, the blind received sight,

The deaf received hearing, the mute received speech,

The dead lived again, and the demons took flight;

The creatures obeyed Him by which He would teach.

How marvelous, Lord, is Your evidence shown,

By which vain excuses have all been removed!

Memorial miracles thus have made known

The claims of Your Gospel abundantly proved.
