Groaning for His Grace

Read:  Psalm 102 / Proverbs 16 / Jeremiah 46 / Eph. 1

Psalm 102:19,20 He hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven… to hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death.

Proverbs 16:15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.

Jeremiah 46:27 Fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed... I will save thee…  from… captivity.

Ephesians 1:3,6 Blessed be the God… who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings… to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

The Lord has surely heard the groaning

From those appointed for the grave.

He has responded by atoning

For sinners whom He died to save.

All those now groaning for His grace

May now be blessed eternally,

For those who humbly seek His face

Are saved from their captivity!

Singing and Sowing

Read:  Psalm 101 / Proverbs 15 / Jeremiah 45 / Gal. 6

Psalm 101:1-4 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD… I will behave myself wisely… will set no wicked thing before mine eyes… A froward heart shall depart from me.

Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Jeremiah 45:5 Seekest thou great things for thyself? Seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey.

Galatians 6:8 He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Of grace and judgment I will sing,

And in my house, I will be wise.

I will not set a wicked thing

Before my heart, my ears, or eyes.

I will not seek the fleeting pleasure

Of things that cannot quench my thirst.

I'll sow to reap eternal treasure;

I’ll love the Lord who has loved me first!

Prepare to Persuade

Read:  Psalm 100 / Proverbs 14 / Jeremiah 44 / Gal. 5

Psalm 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Proverbs 14:15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Jeremiah 44:4 I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early… Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.

Galatians 5:7,8 Who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.

The One who made humanity

Is God (the only sane conclusion),

But fools promote insanity

And call it macroevolution.

Let us be ready to persuade

With evidence that we prepare

To show God’s handiwork displayed

In His creation everywhere.

Gracious Rod of our Great God

Read:  Psalm 99 / Proverbs 13 / Jeremiah 43 / Gal. 4

Psalm 99:8 Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.

Proverbs 13:1,24 A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke… He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Jeremiah 43:4,8 All the captains… and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah… Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah.

Galatians 4:9 After that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

How gracious is our Father’s rod

That lovingly corrects His own!

He is the great Almighty God,

And yet His gentleness is shown.

How wise it is to hear His voice

And heed correction for our good!

May God be honored by our choice

To live before Him as we should.

Why Christ Was Cursed

Read:  Psalm 98 / Proverbs 12 / Jeremiah 42 / Gal. 3

Psalm 98:1-3 He hath done marvelous things… The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed… He hath remembered his mercy and his truth.

Proverbs 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Jeremiah 42:18,21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts… ye shall be… a curse, and a reproach… I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God.
Galatians 3:13,14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law… that the blessing of Abraham might come.

The Lord has openly displayed

The righteousness of His salvation,

For all of us like sheep had strayed

And thus, deserved His condemnation.

We know why Christ was cursed for us:

His love could never be denied.

His grace and truth are marvelous

By which the curse was satisfied!

Light for the Lost

Read:  Psalm 97 / Proverbs 11 / Jeremiah 41 / Gal. 2

Psalm 97:11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

Proverbs 11:18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

Jeremiah 41:13 Now it came to pass, that… all the people which were with Ishmael saw Johanan … then they were glad.

Galatians 2:20 Christ liveth in me… I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Amid the darkness and the sorrow,

The light and gladness of the Lord

Are sown as we foresee the morrow

When we shall reap a sure reward.

We’re sowing righteousness today,

Proclaiming that the Lord of glory

Can save the lost as we convey

The Gospel of His great love story.

Daily Declaration

Read:  Psalm 96 / Proverbs 10 / Jeremiah 40 / Gal. 1

Psalm 96:2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

Proverbs 10:5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Jeremiah 40:4 Behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand… the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel.

There is a daily declaration

We are commissioned to convey:

It is the Gospel of salvation

That we proclaim from day to day.

The Lord has called us to be wise

With evidence to make the case

That proves the truth, exposes lies,

And magnifies His saving grace.

Triune Trust

Read:  Psalm 95 / Proverbs 09 / Jeremiah 39 / 2 Cor. 13

Psalm 95:7,8 He is our God; and we are… the sheep of His hand. Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart.

Proverbs 9:6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Jeremiah 39:18 I will surely deliver thee… because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

The God whose voice we should obey

Has warned each heart to not be hardened.

As long as it is called Today,

He bids us hear Him and be pardoned.

The triune God in whom we trust,

The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,

When kingdoms all have turned to dust,

Shall be the Lord in whom we boast.
