Guided by God

Read:  Psalm 48 / Proverbs 3 / 2 Chronicles 18 / Philemon 1

Psalm 48:14 For this God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
2 Chronicles 18:13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
Philemon 23-25 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus... my fellowlaborers. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

We're guided by God every day;
We borrow from Him every breath.
Through life He will lead all the way
And still through the shadow of death.

The Lord is not silent, but speaks,
Reminding us all that He lives
To lead every person who seeks
The guidance and grace that He gives.

Shadow of His Shield

Read:  Psalm 47 / Proverbs 2 / 2 Chronicles 17 / Titus 3

Psalm 47:1,9 O clap your hands, all ye people... The shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
Proverbs 2:6,7 For the LORD...  layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
2 Chronicles 17:3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

O clap your hands!  With joy applaud
The Lord who has become our Shield!
Beneath the shadow of our God
We triumph on the battlefield!

The wise are walking in God’s ways,
And they are sheltered by their choice
As they resolve to give God praise,
And wisely, they obey His voice.

Steady in Stillness

Read:  Psalm 46 / Proverbs 1 / 2 Chronicles 16 / Titus 2

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Proverbs 1:32-33 The turning away of the simple shall slay them... But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
Titus 2:11,13 The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men... Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

In stillness the Lord makes us steady,
And we shall be quiet from fear.
With confidence let us be ready
To serve Him throughout this new year.

His eyes run through earth to and fro;
Let this purify our behavior!
The Lord shall return; this we know!
We look for our great God and Savior.
