God’s Word is true from the beginning,
Forevermore immutable.
The Lord thereby reproves our sinning;
Obedience preserves our soul.
Imaginary thoughts are vain
That lead a soul to go astray.
The Word of God is true and plain
That guards and guides those who obey.
