Set Our Hearts to Seek Only Him

"Such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem" (2 Chronicles 11:16).  "Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in His ways… it shall be well with thee" (Psalm 128:1,2).  "Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death… The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich" (Proverbs 10:2,22).  "God… giveth grace to the humble.  Humble yourselves therefore… casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you" (1 Peter 5:5-7). 

It's good for us to take the action

To set our hearts to seek the Lord

And set aside the vain distraction

So void of heaven's great reward. 

It's good for us to fear our God

And set our hearts to give Him praise

Unmoved by those who count it odd

That we are walking in His ways. 

The treasures valued by the lost

Shall profit nothing in the end. 

In Christ we see salvation's cost,

A price too great to comprehend! 

Lord, set our hearts to seek Your face

And humbly cast our care on You

As we explore Your wondrous grace,

The only riches that are true.
