The Lord is the Lamb

"Serve the LORD with fear... Kiss the Son... Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him" (Psalm 2:11,12).  "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10).  "Ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set My face against them" (Ezekiel 15:7).  "These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings" (Revelation 17:14).

There is a fear we should despise:  

It is the fear of mortal man. 

The fear of God shall make us wise

And grateful for redemption's plan. 

True wisdom has a sure beginning

And knowledge rightly is explored

In fear that turns us from our sinning

And draws our hearts to seek the Lord. 

How foolishly do foes dismiss

The Son of God and spurn His grace,

Rejecting Him whom they should kiss,

As they refuse to seek His face. 

O God our Savior, Christ the Lamb,  

The Lord of lords, and King of kings,

We worship You, the great I AM,

And find our rest beneath Your wings.
