Messengers for the Master

"Unto Thee lift I up mine eyes, O Thou that dwellest in the heavens... as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters" (Psalms 123:1,2). "A faithful messenger... refresheth the soul of his masters" (Proverbs 25:13).

To You, O Lord, we lift our eyes
To heaven's highest throne,
And pray that You would make us wise,
To make Your glory known.

We see by faith where You now dwell
Where praise proclaims Your worth,
From those whom You redeemed from hell
When You came down to earth.

Those shepherds now are where You are
Who tended sheep in Bethlehem;
The wisemen, too, who saw Your star,
When You were leading them.

Make us, Lord, like each of these,
That we might thus proclaim
And spread the message where You please,
That Christ our Savior came.
