Riches in the Rock

Read:  Psalm 61 / Proverbs 6 / Jeremiah 5 /Romans 11

Psalm 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Jeremiah 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

The Lord will lead me to the Rock

Above the clamor and confusion

Of falsehood guiding those who mock,

Who blindly draw the wrong conclusion.

All heaven’s riches are in Christ;

He is the Rock who proved His love!

The lost by sin are now enticed,

But what about the end thereof?

Glad Tidings of Good Things

Read:  Psalm 60 / Proverbs 5 / Jeremiah 4 /Romans 10

Psalm 60:4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Proverbs 5:7,9 Hear me now therefore… lest thou give thine honor unto others, and thy years unto the cruel.

Jeremiah 4:3 For thus saith the LORD… Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Romans 10:15 How shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Now let our banner be displayed

To show glad tidings of good things,

Lest otherwise we be dismayed

With shame before the King of kings.

Now let the fallow ground be broken!

Let thorns of sin be now removed!

Let Gospel truth be plainly spoken

And by its evidence be proved.

Guiding Light and Guarding Love

Read:  Psalm 59 / Proverbs 4 / Jeremiah 3 /Romans 9

Psalm 59:9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defense.

Proverbs 4:18-19 The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Jeremiah 3:4,22 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?... Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling stone and rock of offense: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Because the enemy is strong

The Lord shall be my confidence.

His guiding light leads me along;

His guarding love is my defense.

The Lord has taught me from my youth

That grace is given to the humble.

The proud who will refuse His truth

Upon the Cornerstone will stumble.
