"They read in the book in the law of God distinctly… All the people wept, when they heard the words of the law " (Nehemiah 8:8,9). "The king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved… Thine hand shall find out all Thine enemies" (Psalm 21:7,8). "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished" (Proverbs 22:3). "I came not to send peace, but a sword… A man's foes shall be they of his own household" (Matthew 10:34,36).
The wall was
built which would divide
The holy city
from the land.
The law was read
and sinners cried
For sin they
then could understand.
The Scripture
has distinctly proved
That we, as
sinners, need God's grace.
God's enemies
shall be removed
Who did not
choose to seek His face.
A prudent man
foresees God's wrath
And hides
himself from condemnation,
But fools despise
God's only path
In Christ that
offers His salvation.
Distinctly we're
divided, Lord,
By saving grace
that You have sent,
For all have
sinned, and yet Your sword
Discerns the
sinners who repent.
