God is Good

Read:  Psalm 25 / Proverbs 31 / Isaiah 35 /Acts 3

Psalm 25:8 ~ Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

Proverbs 31:8 ~ Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Isaiah 35:3 ~ Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

Acts 3:26 ~ God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

How good and upright is the Lord

Who teaches sinners in His way.

By grace His children are restored

Who turn to Him and humbly pray.

So let us strengthen weakened hands,

Confirming hearts and feeble knees,

For God is good who now commands

To turn us from iniquities.

Christ and Creator

Read:  Psalm 24 / Proverbs 30 / Isaiah 34 /Acts 2

Psalm 24:1,3 ~ The earth is the LORD'S and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein… Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

Proverbs 30:4,5 ~ Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended?... who hath established all the ends of the earth?... He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Isaiah 34:16 ~ Seek ye out of the book of the LORD… no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

Acts 2:32,33 ~ This Jesus hath God raised up… we all are witnesses. Therefore, being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

The earth belongs to Jesus Christ,

For He created all we see.

For us our Lord was sacrificed,

And by His truth, He makes us free.

These promises were in God’s Book,

Fulfilling each prophetic mate.

How wonderful it is to look

At Christ who came with love so great!

Showing my Shepherd

Read:  Psalm 23 / Proverbs 29 / Isaiah 33 /Acts 1

Psalm 23:1-4 ~ The LORD is my Shepherd… he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Proverbs 29:25 ~ The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Isaiah 33:17 ~ Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

Acts 1:8 ~ But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

My Shepherd leads me in the path

Of righteousness for His name’s sake.

He died to rescue me from wrath;

I shall behold Him when I wake.

I’ll see the beauty of my King;

My heart awaits that joyful hour.

Till then I shall be witnessing

To show my Shepherd’s saving power.

Simplicity was never Sweeter

Read:  Psalm 22 / Proverbs 28 / Isaiah 32 /John 21

Psalm 22:26 ~ The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live forever.

Proverbs 28:5 ~ Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Isaiah 32:2 ~ And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

John 21:19-22 ~ [Jesus]saith unto him, Follow Me… Peter… saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou Me.

How good it is to seek the Lord,

That we may understand His grace.

His beauty that we have explored

Has drawn our hearts to seek His face.

“And what shall this man do?” said Peter.

The Lord said, “What is that to thee?”

Simplicity was never sweeter

Than when Christ said to “follow Me.”

Wisely or Wastefully

Read:  Psalm 21 / Proverbs 27 / Isaiah 31 /John 20

Psalm 21:1,4 ~ The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!... He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him…length of days forever and ever.

Proverbs 27:1,23 ~ Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth… Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.

Isaiah 31:6 ~ Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

John 20:17,20 ~ Go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God… When… he shewed unto them his hands and his side… then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

In God I gratefully rejoice

For all the blessings that He gave.

How graciously He gives the choice

To trust in Christ who lives to save!

Since God has limited my days,

Which may be wasted or be claimed,

Let wisdom guide my heart to praise

And gladly serve Him, unashamed.

Forever Finished

Read:  Psalm 20 / Proverbs 26 / Isaiah 30 /John 19

Psalm 20:5 ~ We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners.

Proverbs 26:2 ~ The curse causeless shall not come.

Isaiah 30:18 ~ And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you… The LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

John 19:30 ~ When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

We will rejoice in our salvation

As we recall why Jesus died.

The curse that called for condemnation

Forever has been satisfied!

We plead with those who yet are lost,

For judgment cannot be diminished:

Receive the Lord who paid the cost

To claim salvation's work is finished!

His Story in His Stars

Read:  Psalm 19 / Proverbs 25 / Isaiah 29 /John 18

Psalm 19:1-6 ~ The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork… their words to the end of the world…  As a bridegroom… As a strong man to run a race, His going forth is from the end of the heaven.

Proverbs 25:2,25 ~ It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter… As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Isaiah 29:19 ~ The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

John 18:4,8 ~ Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said… let these go their way.

The heavens have declared God’s glory

By all the stars that He has named,

For therein He conveyed the story

Of our salvation thus proclaimed.

Our Lord descended from afar,

And as a strong Man, ran His race.

Prophetic words in every star

Foretold the glory of His grace.

Truth and Treasure

Read:  Psalm 18 / Proverbs 24 / Isaiah 28 /John 17

Psalm 18:1,2 ~ I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Proverbs 24:27 ~ Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

Isaiah 28:16 ~ Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation.

John 17:17,23 ~ Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth... that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

As we explore the truth and treasure

Of Christ in whom we place our trust,

We find there is no greater pleasure

Than loving Him who first loved us.

Christ is our only sure Foundation;

He is the precious Corner Stone.

He sanctifies us through salvation

To know Him and to make Him known.

Sweet Serenity

Read:  Psalm 17 / Proverbs 23 / Isaiah 27 /John 16

Psalm 17:8 ~ Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.

Proverbs 23:26 ~ My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Isaiah 27:5 ~ Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.

John 16:33 ~ These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

We find a sweet serenity

When we surrender to our King.

His truth shall surely make us free

With peace that He alone can bring.

The things that Christ our Lord has spoken

Give peace amid our tribulation,

For not one promise has been broken

Pertaining to His great salvation.

Counsel with Confidence

Read:  Psalm 16 / Proverbs 22 / Isaiah 26 /John 15

Psalm 16:7 ~ I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

Proverbs 22:20,21 ~ Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

Isaiah 26:3,4 ~ Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

John 15:22,24 ~ If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin... If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

The counsel that my Savior gives

Instructs my heart in every season.

I show the proof that Jesus lives

To all who ask me for a reason.

My confidence and perfect peace

Are resting on what Jesus did.

The arguments of men shall cease,

For Christ’s salvation was not hid.

Price of our Peace

Read:  Psalm 15 / Proverbs 21 / Isaiah 25 /John 14

Psalm 15:1,2 ~ LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Proverbs 21:31 ~ The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Isaiah 25:8,9 ~ He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces… We have waited for him; we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

John 14:27 ~ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

There was a price to grant us peace

That only Jesus could provide.

The ransom for our soul’s release

Was paid when Christ our Savior died.

Our sins against us were arrayed;

The battle for our peace seemed lost.

But Jesus said, “Be not afraid,”

For He would pay redemption’s cost.

Faithful in the Fires

Read:  Psalm 14 / Proverbs 20 / Isaiah 24 /John 13

Psalm 14:2,3 ~ The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Proverbs 20:9 ~ Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

Isaiah 24:15 ~ Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

John 13:1 ~ Having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

The Lord looked down from heaven’s throne,

And what He saw was very grim:

Though God’s salvation was made known,

Not even one was seeking Him.

The Lord has seen our wrong desires,

Yet graciously for us He died!

We glorify Him in the fires

Where Christ for us was crucified.

Pursue His Purpose

Read:  Psalm 13 / Proverbs 19 / Isaiah 23 /John 12

Psalm 13:5,6 ~ But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Proverbs 19:20,23 ~ Be wise in thy latter end... The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Isaiah 23:9 ~ The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

John 12:35,46 ~ Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light… I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

There surely is a latter end

To every purpose we pursue.

With godly fear, let us intend

To please the Lord in all we do.

There’s just a little while until

The Lord of hosts shall stain all pride.

As we are walking in His will,

The light of Christ shall be our guide.
