Lamb and Lord

Read:  Psalm 24 / Proverbs 13 / Job 32 / Revelation 17

Psalm 24:8,10 ~ Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle… the LORD of hosts.

Proverbs 13:17 ~ A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

Job 32:8 ~ But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Revelation 17:14 ~ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are… faithful.

Who is this glorious King above

Who, with a Word, the battle wins?

Behold the Lamb, the Lord of love

Who died to save us from our sins!

The Lamb and Lord, the King of kings,

Shall overcome His foes in war

When He returns and with Him brings

The saints He saved forevermore.

Sees my Steps

Read:  Psalm 23 / Proverbs 12 / Job 31 / Revelation 16

Psalm 23:6 ~ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Proverbs 12:5 ~ The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

Job 31:4 ~ Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

Revelation 16:5 ~ Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

The Lord is good, I surely know,

Through time and through eternity.

He shelters me from every foe

And by His truth, He makes me free.

He sees my steps and all my ways

And guides my feet upon His path

To live a life of grateful praise

For He has saved my soul from wrath.

Sacrificed for our Salvation

Read:  Psalm 22 / Proverbs 11 / Job 30 / Revelation 15

Psalm 22:30,31 ~ A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

Proverbs 11:30 ~ The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Job 30:23 ~ For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

Revelation 15:4 ~ Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Declare the righteousness of Christ

Who has accomplished our salvation!

For us our Lord was sacrificed;

We are His new-born generation!

The Lord has called us to be wise

By winning souls with godly fear,

For every living person dies

And judgment day is drawing near.

Trusted and Triumphant

Read:  Psalm 21 / Proverbs 10 / Job 29 / Revelation 14

Psalm 21:13 ~ Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

Proverbs 10:29 ~ The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Job 29:2,3 ~ In months past… God preserved me… by his light I walked through darkness.

Revelation 14:7 ~ Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

We would be hopeless, helpless, halted

Without the strength of God’s salvation.

Let Christ be trusted and exalted,

Triumphant in each situation.

The Lord preserved us in the past,

And by His light He led the way,

So let us fear the Lord at last,

For He is faithful every day.

His Coming and His Commanding

Read:  Psalm 20 / Proverbs 9 / Job 28 / Revelation 13

Psalm 20:7 ~ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Proverbs 9:10 ~ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Job 28:28 ~ Unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Revelation 13:9 ~ If any man have an ear, let him hear.

Though some may be inclined to trust

The things that soon will pass away

(Like chariots that turn to dust),

It’s wise to fear the Lord today.

The coming of the Lord draws near,

So let us walk with understanding.

Let everyone with ears to hear

Obey what Jesus is commanding.

Right Way in the Revealed Word

Read:  Psalm 19 / Proverbs 8 / Job 27 / Revelation 12

Psalm 19:8,14 The statutes of the LORD are right… Let the words of my mouth… be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD.

Proverbs 8:8,9 All the words of my mouth are… right.

Job 27:11 I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.

In every single situation

The statutes of the Lord are right.

So therein let our meditation

And words be pleasing in His sight.

We speak the truth that God revealed

Which He commands us now to teach.

The words He gave are not concealed;

They are the Gospel that we preach.

Prophetic Plan

Read:  Psalm 18 / Proverbs 7 / Job 26 / Revelation 11

Psalm 18:1 ~ I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress… my high tower.

Proverbs 7:1 ~ My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

Job 26:13,14 ~ By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent. Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

Revelation 11:17 ~ We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

I love the Lord, and rightly so!

He is my Rock and my high Tower.

By His prophetic plan I know

His truth, His faithfulness, and power.

But who can understand His power

By which He garnished all creation?

Yet greater still, He planned the hour

That He would purchase our salvation!

His Wings and His Word

Read:  Psalm 17 / Proverbs 6 / Job 25 / Revelation 10

Psalm 17:8 ~ Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

Proverbs 6:20,22 ~ My son, keep thy father's commandment… When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

Job 25:4,6 ~ How then can man be justified with God?... A man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

Revelation 10:11 ~ And he said… Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

I’m trusting Christ, the King of kings,

Who rescued me from condemnation.

I’m safely kept beneath His wings

And counseled by His conversation.

The Lord, by whom I’m justified,

Equips me to proclaim His Word

By showing what He prophesied,

Just as He promised, has occurred.

Laughter turns to Lamentation

Read:  Psalm 16 / Proverbs 5 / Job 24 / Revelation 9

Psalm 16:4 ~ Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god.

Proverbs 5:7-9 ~ Hear me now therefore… lest thou give thine honor unto others, and thy years unto the cruel.

Job 24:25 ~ And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?

Revelation 9:21 ~ Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied

Who will not have the Savior rule.

How sadly this is verified

When years are given to the cruel.

If hearts surrender to the Lord,

The Lord imparts to them salvation.

If God’s instruction is ignored,

Their laughter turns to lamentation.

Refines and Revives

Read:  Psalm 15 / Proverbs 4 / Job 23 / Revelation 8

Psalm 15:1,2 ~ LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Proverbs 4:11 ~ I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Job 23:10 ~ But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Revelation 8:3 ~ And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

When with our Savior we abide,

We walk according to His way.

When on His pathway we are tried,

Our Lord refines us day by day.

Our prayers arise before His throne

As He inclines His ear to hear,

And in our trials He has shown

That He revives us and is near.

Laud the Lamb

Read:  Psalm 14 / Proverbs 3 / Job 22 / Revelation 7

Psalm 14:2,3 ~ The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Proverbs 3:34 ~ Surely, he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Job 22:21 ~ Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

Revelation 7:9,10 ~ I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations… cried… Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

The Lord looked down from heaven’s throne

To see if any understood.

He has concluded and made known

That all have sinned; not one is good.

Though mockers, as foretold, will scorn

The warning of their condemnation,

The meek by grace shall be reborn

And laud the Lamb for their salvation.

Come To See our Cause To Sing

Read:  Psalm 13 / Proverbs 2 / Job 21 / Revelation 6

Psalm 13:6 ~ I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Proverbs 2:6 ~ For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Job 21:22 ~ Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.

Revelation 6:1 ~ And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals… saying, Come and see.

Now come to see our cause to sing

With all whom Jesus died to save,

For He removed the deadly sting

That waited for us in the grave.

We have cause for celebration!

“Come, see the place,” as angels said,

Where He who died for our salvation

Is raised, as promised, from the dead!

Beauty of the Book

Read:  Psalm 12 / Proverbs 1 / Job 20 / Revelation 5

Psalm 12:6,7 ~ The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.

Proverbs 1:33 ~ But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Job 20:20,29 ~ Surely he shall not feel quietness… which he desired… This is the portion of a wicked man from God.

Revelation 5:5 ~ Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book.

Behold the beauty of the Book

Preserved by God forevermore.

Within its pages we may look

Upon the Savior we adore.

This Book in times of deep distress

Holds promises that cannot fail,

And therefore we find quietness,

Assured that Jesus shall prevail.

Trust and Tell

Read:  Psalm 11 / Proverbs 31 / Job 19 / Revelation 4

Psalm 11:1 ~ In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

Proverbs 31:8 ~ Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Job 19:25 ~ For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.

Revelation 4:1 ~ After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice… said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

In God alone I put my trust:

Why should I flee, then, as a bird?

I’m called to tell, and tell I must,

The Gospel truth that I have heard.

I know that my Redeemer lives

And that He’ll come again to reign.

I will redeem the time He gives

To make His Gospel message plain.
